Description
Ethnographer Alina Vysockaja has been studying the phenomenon of dreams in folklore narratives for more than 10 years and has gathered a rich collection of such records – both personal records and thematic sources.
The author analyzes scientific approaches to the study of folk dream narratives as a phenomenon, shows how and why dream narratives are included in folklore, what structure they have, and what models they are built on. The book contains 2153 authentic records of dream stories: explanations, descriptions of divinations and predictions, warnings and advice, and ways to “bet” on a dream.
