Description
One hundred and twenty years ago, the book Ad Astra was called “the work that remains”.
The authors introduced the musical word “duet” into the title and set the story against the background of hymns of wildlife, songs of antiquity, music of the cosmos and the silence of the sphinxes. The voices of the characters come from Belovezhskaya Pushcha and the Bernese Alps, from the Black Gusher tract full of wonders and fears, from the majestic glaciers of the Rhone, from the fairy-tale valley of Lauterbrunnen, over which a shepherd’s song is heard, and from the ruins of a Belarusian castle devoured by wild boars, from where the sounds of ghostly hunting can be heard in the forest….
The melody of love is interwoven with the notes of life: the characters are engaged in a philosophical and psychological battle, in which, among other things, the disputes of patriot and cosmopolitan, heart and mind, happiness and sacrifice, love and duty are heard.
