    The novel “Notes in the Stream of Time” has an autobiographical basis. The story centers on a teacher at an evening school and his daily pedagogical work, full of curious situations and paradoxes. The conflict between good and evil is transformed into a conflict between the individual and the system (both school and social) in which the individual is forced to exist.

    Stanislav Rakús employs compositional and plot techniques new to Slovak literature, making his work innovative.
