Description
This psychological thriller transports the reader to the dark forests of northern Sweden, where, against the backdrop of endless white nights, a story filled with loss, despair, and searching unfolds.
Three years ago, Lelle’s sixteen-year-old daughter, Lisa, vanished without a trace on the “Silver Road” (E45) — a desolate stretch of highway running through the northern taiga. Since then, Lelle, the grief-stricken father, has been unable to find peace. Every summer night, he gets into his old car and drives along this road, searching for any sign of his daughter, ignoring all police advice and his own common sense.
His life has become a ceaseless wandering between hope and despair. When another young girl disappears in a neighboring village, a new wave of obsession grips Lelle: he is certain that these events are connected. At this time, Meja, a girl struggling with her own demons and eager to leave the north, appears in his life.
“The Silver Road” is an atmospheric, poignant story about how far a person can go to endure unbearable loss and how long faith can be sustained under conditions of hopelessness.
