Description
The monograph “Feminizacyja biełaruskaj movy” is devoted to the analysis of female agentive-professional nouns (Nomina agentis) in the Belarusian language both in a historical perspective (in Old Belarusian) and in two usages of the modern Belarusian language (Taraškievica and Narkamaŭka). In addition, the work covers a comparative perspective — an attempt to find out how female agent-nouns function in modern Polish, Russian, Ukrainian, Lithuanian, and French. The book is intended for everyone interested in sociolinguistic and gender studies.
Alaksiej Kaŭka: In the book “Feminizacyja biełaruskaj movy” there is a profound meaning, an aesthetic appeal of a forgotten (almost untouched) page of our Belarusian sociolinguistics and natural speech… an unexpected discovery.
