Description

Aliaksiej Pravałocki was born in Minsk. He worked as a lecturer at Minsk State Linguistic University. He lived in Odesa for a while, then moved to Warsaw. His debut book “Life in Twelve Stories” was published in 2024.

The author’s second book “The Train to Poznan” is fifty stories about life without a Catholic passport and trying to feel the contours of a new country. It is a series of portraits of real people, most of them Poles, captured in various Polish cities and imbued with emigration experience, nostalgia and echoes of Belarusian trauma. Some characters appear only once, others recur in different stories.
