Description
In the first edition of the book “I Love Belarus,” the Author expressed sincere gratitude for the help in preparing the book: to the people whose advice, consultations, and remarks were valuable refinements to the “National Idea”; to the members of the Malady Front who typed and formatted the text; to the friends who verified the information; to the parents; and to all those who prayed for the realization of this edition.
“This must be felt. The more I listen to the three melodic syllables of her name, the more deeply I savor these seven sounds, trying at the end to catch the non-existent, final, most piercing one — yet it keeps vanishing with the transparent letter; the longer I admire this stirring, white-white flag with hot crimson — the more I believe. My heart begins to beat harder and my head starts to spin. I want to quietly close my eyes and prayerfully, solemnly whisper to myself: ‘Almighty God! Boundless is Your wisdom! Immeasurable is Your grace! THANK YOU for letting me be born in THIS COUNTRY!..’ In a country of victims, wars, and catastrophes, among a people of geniuses and saints. Among the greatest burial grounds of human history. In the Heart of Europe, the most important spiritual center between West and East.
For I believe that Belarus is something much more significant than what is commonly thought. From time to time it seems: one more second, and we are about to grasp, to crystallize for ourselves this moment of truth. So transparent is its essence, so clearly do the facets of something ideally whole shimmer and play, so it pierces — to the point of sparkling tears, to the point of hallucinations. And I keep repeating to myself: a great future awaits Belarus, where we have the honor to live.”
