Description
MYSTERY / THRILLER / NOVEL / DETECTIVE / FOLK
The brightest moments and the warmest memories can be plunged into darkness in an instant.
What is Sergei doing in Norway? What answers is he looking for here, at the rock cathedral, where people come to test how alive they really are? Last year, he buried his wife. She died of an illness; no one killed her, but he needs at least a scapegoat—someone to blame for this misfortune.
Events overlap, and he, like a restorer of works of art, must uncover the hidden image, piece by piece. As his vibrant, strong body takes another step, the protagonist’s thoughts gradually sink into the fog of oblivion. Will he manage to find the answers before he forgets why he’s looking for them?

Preikestolen (The Pulpit Rock) is a tourist attraction in Norway. This steep cliff rises 604 meters above the Lysefjord. The cliff was formed during the last ice age, about 10,000 years ago, and will one day collapse along a deep fissure running its entire length, although geologists have confirmed that the plateau is currently safe.
Climbing this cliff is a serious challenge, but fatalities at this site are extremely rare, despite hundreds of thousands of visitors each year.
